Dr. M. Suresh Kumar earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, under Anna University, Chennai, in 2013. His doctoral research focused on scheduling algorithms in computational grids, specifically addressing economic and deadline considerations. He completed his M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2004, graduating with first-class honors. Earlier, he earned his B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, in 1993, also with first-class honors. Dr. Kumar’s educational background provides a solid foundation in computational theories, algorithms, and emerging technologies, which has greatly contributed to his success in research and teaching.

Dr. M. Suresh Kumar has a remarkable academic career spanning over three decades. He is currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, a position he has held since June 2018. Prior to this, he was a Professor at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, from 2013 to 2018, and has also held positions as an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Senior Lecturer. His early career includes a role as a Lecturer at the Government Polytechnic, Ooty. Throughout his career, Dr. Kumar has been deeply involved in various administrative and academic responsibilities, including accreditation processes, curriculum development, and managing student placements. His leadership roles and contributions to the institution have shaped its growth and development, and his research has consistently been at the forefront of technological advancements in the field.

Dr. Kumar’s research achievements include winning the Gold Award at i2create 2019 for his innovative robot programming system aimed at improving air quality monitoring in industrial environments. Additionally, his work continues to gain recognition internationally, leading to invitations as a keynote speaker at global forums such as the Precision Global Forum on Renewable and Sustainable Energy (PRENE2025) in London.
