Agata Rascio is a senior plant physiologist with more than four decades of scientific contribution in crop ecophysiology, genetic resources, and plant stress biology, with a primary focus on durum wheat and quinoa. She earned a PhD in Productivity and Sustainability of Mediterranean Agricultural Systems from CREA, Italy, holds a three-year Specialistic Diploma in Nutrition from the University of Pavia (Faculty of Medicine), and graduated with a first-class degree in Biology from the University of Pavia. Her professional career includes long-term service as Senior Research Scientist and Laboratory Director at CREA-CI in Foggia, professorship under the Italian Ministry of Public Education, and consultancy roles in crop physiology. Her research interests span abiotic stress tolerance, yield formation in semi-arid environments, phenotyping methodologies, induced mutagenesis for biodiversity enhancement, gene expression under environmental stress, and metabolomic and nutraceutical characterization of plant genetic resources. SActively engaged in global scientific networks and editorial activities, she has also contributed as an evaluator for major international programs. Her achievements include the Wheat Initiative Recognition Award for innovative phenotyping approaches supporting wheat improvement, underscoring her lasting influence on sustainable agriculture and crop resilience research.

Dr. Ahmad Abdi is an Associate Professor in Sport Physiology at Islamic Azad University, Ayatollah Amoli Branch, With a BSc and MSc in Physical Education and Sports Science from Shahid Beheshti University and Central Tehran Branch respectively, and a PhD in Sport Physiology from the Science and Research Branch of Tehran, he brings deep academic grounding. He has taught human anatomy, sports nutrition, physiology and coaching across multiple Azad University campuses, while also serving in leadership roles such as Head of the Faculty of Physical Education. His research interest spans exercise intervention, nutritional supplements, molecular-cellular adaptations to training, and the use of medicinal plant extracts in metabolic disorders and cardiovascular health. Marwa Hassan is an immunologist with substantive contributions in stem cell biology, molecular immunology, and translational research. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare & Hospital Management (American University in Cairo, 2020). Over her career she has held roles from resident researcher to acting head of department at the Immunology Division of TBRI, and has organized and led numerous specialized training courses (e.g. stem cell culture, molecular immunology, ELISA). Her research interests include non-coding RNAs, stem cell differentiation, immune regulation in liver disease, and biomarker development. She has published in peer-reviewed journals (e.g. on circulating liver cancer stem cells) and contributed to capacity building via workshops and academic leadership. Her awards and recognitions reflect her dual strengths in research and academic service.
