Mr. Wei Zhang | Electrical Engineering | Best Researcher Award

Suzhou vocational University | China

Dr. Wei Zhang, a dedicated educator and researcher in power electronics at Suzhou Vocational University, holds a degree in Control Theory and Control Engineering from Suzhou University. He has established himself in the field of high-frequency isolated AC/AC conversion. His current research focuses on eliminating bulky DC intermediate energy storage and implementing soft-switching control strategies to reduce device switching losses, thereby improving converter efficiency and system reliability. He has published in respected journals such as the International Journal of Electronics and engages actively with industry through power-industry consultancy projects. As a teacher, he not only advances the academic frontier but also mentors students in hands-on converter design and simulation. His work has led to validated simulation and experimental results, demonstrating both theoretical correctness and practical feasibility. Looking ahead, Dr. Zhang aims to further transform power‐electronics architectures toward more compact, efficient, and digitally controlled systems, contributing to sustainable energy conversion and smarter power infrastructure.
