Mr. Birhan kassa | Agricultural Science and Innovation | Best Researcher Award

Bahir Dar University | Ethiopia

Mr. Birhan Kassa is an Associate Researcher in Animal Breeding and Genetics with extensive experience in poultry breeding programs and indigenous chicken improvement in Ethiopia. He holds a BSc in Animal Production and Technology (2012) and an MSc in Animal Breeding and Genetics (2019), and is now pursuing a PhD in the same field at Bahir Dar University. Over the past decade he has led and coordinated applied research in poultry, including comparative evaluations of growth, reproductive and production traits of indigenous and tropically adapted chicken breeds, and has contributed to understanding farmers’ breeding objectives and trait preferences. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to practical manuals and proceedings. His research interests include genetic diversity, heritability estimation, selective breeding, and sustainable poultry production under smallholder and semi-scavenging systems. While I could not locate a verified h-index-2 or total citation-40  for him in the public domain at this moment, his record indicates substantial scholarly output and growing impact. His work has been recognized within national research programs and contributes to both academic knowledge and practical applications in livestock production. He continues to aim to advance genetic improvement and food security through integrative research.
